Galvanized Weld Wire Mesh - Galvanized Before Weld (GBW)

Welded wire mesh panels are a range of galvanized steel metal mesh sheets supplied in various mesh hole sizes. The steel is hot-dipped galvanised ensuring the steel grid has a long, corrosion resistant performance. The steel mesh is hot-dipped galvanised after the steel wire has been welded, ensuring the welded wire mesh panels are totally protected by the galvanised coating.

Welded wire mesh and fence that is Galvanized Before Weld (GBW) is economical and ideal for many uses. The wires used in the manufacturing process are galvanized before they are welded into a variety of mesh sizes. Different gauge wires are used. The gauge and mesh sizes are determined by the final use of the product. Smaller meshes made with lighter gauge wires are ideal for making cages for small animals. The heavier gauges and meshes with larger openings make good fences.

Due to the hot-dipped galvanised processes, sometimes the welded wire mesh panels have a rough texture which should be taken into consideration when purchasing for certain applications.

In deciding which kind of galvanized welded wire fencing mesh to use, take the following into consideration:

How long do you want the fence or mesh to last?
What factors determine the mesh size that you want to use?
Are there environmental factors that could potentially shorten the lifetime of the wire?
Does your project require a lot of labor that will need to be repeated when the wires rust through and need replacement?
Will the appearance of rusting wires be objectionable?

There are alternatives to Galvanized Before Welded wire mesh and fencing. Both Galvanized After Weld (GAW), Vinyl Coated (VC) and Stainless Steel (SS) fences and meshes guarantee longer life. And vinyl coated material offers a more attractive finish.
